We have started a new project, Early Intervention and Research Centre and it was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan on 23 rd September 2019. This project is envisaged for early intervention in infants and to detect the disability and developmental delay. Now-a-days majority of the parents are under high pressure of stress and strain in one way or other. Due to the ignorance of the parents, they are unable to identify the disabilities of the newly born infants those who have delayed development in their physical and mental growth and to seek prevention and cure of their disability and developmental delay. So, it is most important for early intervention in the children and to detect the disability and developmental delay. The ultimate goal is to enhance normal development and independent functioning of the child. Intervention may focus on the children, parents, family and community.
It is a centre to identify the disabilities of the children between the age group of 6 months to 5 years whose who have delayed development in their physical and mental growth and to seek prevention and cure of their disability and developmental delay. The ultimate goal is to enhance normal development and independent functioning of the child. We have the Sensory Integration Therapy Unit (SIT), Physio-therapy, Speech therapy, Behaviour therapy and Occupational therapy services. We have also a study and research wing with full fledged Library with this centre which can impart study and research on the svarious reasons for the delayed development and the abnormal birth.
